I Don’t Know Enough About the Bible for Church.

Holy Bible

I’ve heard there might be some people out there who are afraid of going to church because they don’t know enough about the Bible. Consider my mind blown. That’s more of a reason to go to church. Church’s job is to teach you about Spiritual things including the Bible.

I’m reminded of the purpose of stain glass windows. They were put in for the church to share Bible stories with those that couldn’t read. They were put in so the person preaching could refer to them during the sermon. I guess now we have many tools to help teach about the Bible like movies, songs, and more.

One of the nice thing about Spiritualism is that the Bible is one of our “sacred texts”. We couldn’t possibly expect you to know multiple texts like that inside and out.

One of the awesome things about this day and age is information is easy to come by. I suppose that is why they call it the information age. You can find out more about the Bible on the internet if you feel like searching. The thing about the internet is that there is plenty of information but it’s hard to find the wisdom and knowledge. What is it they say? It’s like trying to drink from a fire house.

So putting the internet aside. We also have these smart devices in our pockets with apps. I found the easiest way to read the Bible is through the wonderful app provided by YouVersion. Just click “Start Reading” or “Download the Bible App”. The best feature is that you can use the app and have it read the Bible to you. I use this frequently when I feel that I need to read an entire book of the Bible.

Please share how you learn about the Bible in the comments so that we may pass that on and spread Spiritual virtues. You could also share your favorite books of the Bible or other sacred texts.

I work as a Medium at Spiritualist churches and as a Psychic. I also did three years of Bible School.
Any suggestions to refute the attacks from my well meaning Fundamentalist friends?

I recently read the Law of Attraction book and it turns out it is more than just “like attracts like.” There is also a component that talks about allowance. The first part of allowing is not letting others bring you down by not letting them affect your emotions. If you let them affect your emotions, that would be tolerance rather than allowance. The second part of allowance is realizing that we are not here to change the world by force. We must let everyone have their own beliefs and find the truth on their own. The best we can do is lead by example.

I also like to look to Jesus. He really was more spiritual than religious. He healed, He prophesied, He lead by example, He went to the wilderness and prayed. I feel like some modern Christians think the stuff that happened in the Bible doesn’t happen anymore. It does though. Communicating with the spirit world hasn’t changed a bit. In Acts, there was a message about 4 corners of a sheet that when interpreted was about eating unclean meat. Today’s messages require just as much interpretation.
